I love this green smoothie recipe, it literally tastes like dessert! It’s so creamy, delicious, filling and bursting with beautifying minerals and packed full of healthy fats which maintain youthful, glowing skin.
Avocados are rich in anti-ageing and antioxidants properties, which reduce the appearance of wrinkles and make the skin more supple and plump. They’re relatively high in fat content, but it’s the good kind of fats, which are known to reduce the risk of heart-related diseases and also help aid in weight loss!
Yes, you heard that right! Eating good sources of plant fats such as avocados can actually aid weight loss and help keep the body lean and healthy because fats are very satiating and help combat unhealthy cravings.
And whether you’re trying to lose weight or not it’s crucial to include healthy fats in your diet as they play a major role in our overall health. They’re beneficial for brain health, lowering the risk of heart disease and they help keep blood sugar levels under control.
This is a very simple recipe made up of only 3 ingredients; Spinach, bananas and an avocado ( and you will need a cup of water to blend up the smoothie of course!)
Dreamy Creamy Avocado Green Smoothie Recipe
2 cups of spinach
1/2 of a medium-size avocado
1 cup of water
- Blend the spinach with the water
- Add the bananas and blend again
- Add the avocado and blend until smooth.
Serve and enjoy.
Note: If the smoothie comes out too thick just add more water to make it less thick. Also, I’ve found if I leave this smoothie in the fridge for as little as a couple of hours it starts to turn brown and may even start to lose its taste. So I advise you to drink this smoothie straight after you make it, as avocado flesh oxidises very quickly.
