The Kale Skin Tonic green smoothie contains ingredients that specifically attain and maintain healthy, glowing skin. When consumed on a regular basis, this combination of fruits and veggies work together to detoxify tissue and glands, hydrate the cells on a deep level, remove toxic material from the body and cleanse and purify the blood, which results to clear, even-toned glowing skin.
The leafy green used for this smoothie is kale (of course) and parsley which are both great detox leafy greens and are high in antioxidants, which fight off free radicals in the body leading to healthy, radiant skin.
Cucumbers and celery are high in water content, so they are both naturally very hydrating which is great for skin health. Cucumbers contain silica, which is a mineral that strengthens connective tissue. Celery also contains beautifying minerals and anti-ageing properties, which keep the skin youthful and glowing.
I used both lime and lemon juice, as citric acid fruits are great for detoxifying the body, brightens up skin complexion and delays signs of ageing such as wrinkles, discolouration and sagging of the skin.
Kale Skin Tonic Green Smoothie
1 cup of kale
Handful of parsley
Half of a medium size cucumber
2 celery sticks
3 Granny Smith apples
Juice of half a lemon
Juice of half a lime
1 cup of water
- Blend the water with the kale and parsley until smooth
- Add the celery and cucumber and blend again
- Add the apples and the juice of the lemon and lime and blend until smooth.
