Hey guys! I have an epic green smoothie recipe to share with you this week! You’re going to love this one!
Pineapple and mint taste incredible together and the other ingredients really compliment the whole smoothie. It’s sweet, slightly sour, and has a spicy kick to it (from the ginger).
It’s also cleansing and refreshing and makes a nice change to the thick and creamy banana-based smoothies that I usually make.
Although I love using bananas as a base, now and again I like to switch it up and use high-water content fruits, such as apples, as a base so my smoothies aren’t as thick. This makes the smoothie very refreshing and super hydrating.
This smoothie is also perfect for this time of year because it’s loaded with immune boosting and anti-viral properties, which help fight off the common cold during these cooler months.
Below are some of the benefits of all the ingredients used for this smoothie:
Pineapples are rich in vitamin C and keep skin beautiful and glowing.
Mint combats bad breath, relives skin issues like acne and helps with menstrual cramps.
Apples promote heart health, aid natural weight loss and improve eyesight.
Limes detoxify and alkalise the body and rejuvenate the skin
Ginger boosts up the immune system and contains anti-fungal and anti-viral properties.
The leafy green used for this smoothie is kale, which reduces inflammation in the body and is loaded with beautifying minerals.
Pineapple Mint Green Smoothie
1 cup of kale
1 cup of pineapple
2-3 Granny Smith apples
A handful of mint leaves
1 inch of ginger
Juice of 1 lime
1 cup of water
1.Blend the kale and ginger with the water until smooth
2.Next, add the apples and blend again
3.Then add the pineapple, mint, and squeeze in the juice from the lime and blend everything until smooth
